Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is an upcoming supernatural horror film and the second installment in the Five Nights at Freddy's film series, which is based on the video game series of the same name created by Scott Cawthon. It is the sequel to the 2023 horror film Five Nights at Freddy's. It is currently being co-produced by Scott Cawthon Productions and Blumhouse Productions.
It is set to release on December 5, 2025.

On December 20, 2023, Production Weekly, a comprehensive production resource for upcoming films and TV series', had Five Nights at Freddy's 2 in Issue 1381, confirming that the film is in fact in pre-production.[6]
On January 1, 2024, Ryan Turek, a Blumhouse producer, stated in an interview with Collider that Five Nights at Freddy's 2 was still waiting for the green light.[7]
On January 3, 2024, Hank actor, Christian Stokes confirmed the info within the Production Weekly article[8] stating that it is in pre-production on stunt forums.[9]
On January 8, 2024, A sequel was confirmed by Mike Schmidt actor Josh Hutcherson.[10]
On February 19, 2024, Productionlist.com listed Five Nights at Freddy's 2 to begin filming on July 1, 2024, and it will be filmed in New Orleans, LA, United States.[11]
On March 28, 2024, filming for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 was postponed until Fall 2024, originally scheduled for July 1, 2024.[12]
On April 9, 2024, Jason Blum posted an image of a Jim Henson's employee in the middle of working on Mangle's sculpture, with Toy Bonnie seen off to the left and other parts of Mangle, Toy Bonnie, and an unknown torso on the desk. Behind, there are endo parts: Torture Freddy Head's gear, a Freddy plush on the top right, and Shadow Freddy's foot next to signs that were at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights behind the employee.[13]
On April 10, 2024, Blumhouse officially confirmed that the film will be releasing in theaters in Fall 2025.[14]
On May 16, 2024, Variety confirmed the film was pushed from a Fall 2025 release to a Winter 2025 release, now with a release date of December 5, 2025.[15]

- On The Numbers "Movies Planned for Release in 2025" page, there was a "Untitled Blumhouse Event Film" that releases on October 17, 2025, or October 16, 2025, in New Zealand, which was being speculated to be Five Nights at Freddy's 2.[16][17]
- This was later revealed to be the release date for Blumhouse's The Black Phone 2, a sequel to their 2021 horror film, The Black Phone.
- It can be assumed that Five Nights at Freddy's 2 could've initially been set to release on October 17, due to The Black Phone 2 originally being set for June 27, 2025, before being moved up to October 17, at the same time as the release date announcement for Five Nights at Freddy's 2. This also lines up with the film's initial Fall 2025 release.
- This was later revealed to be the release date for Blumhouse's The Black Phone 2, a sequel to their 2021 horror film, The Black Phone.
